2019 UMass Minutemen Football Schedule Analysis

– The Walt Bell era opens up at Rutgers, and there’s only one other Power Five game going to Northwestern in the middle of November. There are still a few other tough games with dates against five teams in all that went bowling, but going to FIU and Louisiana Tech are manageable, and going to Army and hosting BYU will be interesting.

– The big problem is the off weeks – there’s only one. The UMass season ends early – the final game is against BYU on November 23rd – and the one week off is in mid-october before hosting UConn. It’s going to be a long first half of the season.

– The other issue will be the road games in the middle of the season. The Minutemen Only have two home games from the beginning of October until the regular season finale against BYU.
