2019 Texas Tech Red Raiders Football Schedule Analysis

– The Matt Wells era kicks off with two scrimmages and breathers before diving into the shallow end of the pool head first. The Red Raiders play Montana State and UTEP before going to Arizona in what should be a wild shootout. There’s a break after the non-conference slate is over, and the team will need it.

– Welcome to the Big 12, Matt – now go to Oklahoma to start the Big 12 season, and then deal with Oklahoma State in a like shootout, and then deal with a trip to Baylor, and then handle the toughness of Iowa State. It’s a rapid-fire conference run, and the team needs to get into a groove before getting a relative break.

– The Red Raiders have to go to Kansas, but that qualifies as a breather before getting a week off. They need it with a trip to West Virginia to follow. TCU and Kansas State might be must wins at home before closing out at Texas.
