2019 Texas Longhorns Football Schedule Analysis

– There’s no Maryland on the slate. Start there, and the rest of the non-conference run doesn’t look so bad. Louisiana Tech isn’t a total lightweight to open up against, but it had better be a solid scrimmage with what’s coming next.

LSU is coming to town in one of the best non-conference games of the college football season. Going to Houston’s NRG Stadium to face Rice will be a breeze after that.

– Getting Oklahoma State right away in Big 12 play isn’t all that bad – it’s at home, and it’s early. There’s a week off to rest up and get ready, and the Longhorns are going to need it with West Virginia and Oklahoma to follow.

There’s a run of three games in four without a game in Austin. Texas has just one home game against Kansas from late September until November 9th against Kansas State.

– In all, there’s a run of six games in nine dates away from home, including November battles at Iowa State and Baylor. Here’s the problem. The three Big 12 teams that didn’t go bowling – Kansas, Kansas State and Texas Tech – are all home games.
