1. Does Texas really build off of this?

It was a great game and a fantastic performance. But it also sets the bar high for a Texas program and fan base that expects national championship runs – or, at least, Big 12 titles and College Football Playoff appearances.

If nothing else, the Longhorns are ascending. There’s still a ways to go – the team did lose four games this season, including to Maryland to open the season – but three of those losses were by a touchdown or less, and by a total of 13 points. The other was to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship.

Texas is going to be a thing again – and it’s about time.

Tom Herman had his team jacked up and ready to go for the Bulldogs, and they were the better team – at least on this night.

So what if Georgia wasn’t quite as focused or interested as it needed to be? Texas did its job.

Texas came up with its first double-digit win season since 2009 when it went to the BCS Championship and lost to Alabama.
