Breaking down and analyzing the 2019 Oklahoma Sooners football schedule.
2019 Oklahoma Sooners Football Schedule Analysis
– Congratulations on that new gig and new contract at Houston, Dana Holgorsen. For your troubles, you get Oklahoma to kick things off. The Sooners have to deal with the hungry Cougars to start, get a break with South Dakota, and then have to go to LA where UCLA will look to make an early statement. OU is better than all three teams, but there’s just enough offensive firepower on the Cougars and Bruins to be dangerous.
– Overall, the Texas game is the one time OU might not be favored. There can’t and shouldn’t be an issue the rest of the way without a big upset. The easy parts are out of the Big 12 way early on, hosting Matt Wells and his Texas Tech team before going to Kansas. And then it’s on to the Longhorns.
– The Sooners are are in Norman just once – against West Virginia – from September 28th to November 9th. Going to Baylor and Oklahoma State in the final three weeks is hardly a breeze, and having to deal with Iowa State and TCU isn’t going to be easy, even at home.
