2019 Michigan State Spartans Football Schedule Analysis
– Michigan State lost a thriller at Arizona State last season, and now Herm Edwards’ team has to come to East Lansing. That comes after other non-conference home dates against Tulsa and Western Michigan – it’s a light enough slate to start 3-0 before diving into the Big Ten opener at Northwestern.
– Along with the date against the defending West champs, the Spartans have to go to Wisconsin (trouble) and host Illinois (not that bad). There’s no Iowa or Nebraska, but it’s not the easiest of runs. The big problem? The first week off isn’t until mid-October after dealing with the Badgers.
– The team should be rested. The first week off comes before the Penn State game at home, and that’s followed up by another break before hosing Illinois. That means MSU doesn’t leave Michigan for five straight weeks, however, it has to go to Ann Arbor, and that comes well after the Ohio State game in Columbus.
