3. Joe Burrow came through
He got blasted, gave up a horrible pick six, and got sacked a few times. But Joe Burrow closed out his great season by shredding the UCF defense.
While his former team – Ohio State – was getting ready for the Rose Bowl, Burrow was busy taking care of the Fiesta as just the quarterback the program needed.
He didn’t make a whole slew of mistakes this season – throwing just four picks before the bowl with 12 touchdown passes and seven rushing touchdowns – and he provide the team with a solid, steady presence.
While the accuracy wasn’t quite there this season, he was solid on third downs, had a knack for the key throw, and he now has a Fiesta Bowl title on his resumé.
And now LSU has its leader to work the offense around for next year.
