Fearless Predictions Results So Far

SU: 33-11
ATS: 26-16-2
O/U: 16-26-1

Auburn (13-4) at South Carolina (9-8)

Game Time: 6:30 ET
TV Network: SEC Network

Just when it seemed like South Carolina was back on track with an unbeaten SEC start, it got destroyed by LSU on Saturday. Now it has to deal with an Auburn team that came up with a brilliant comeback effort in a loss to Kentucky.

The Tigers are amazing at hitting from three and are never out of the game, and the Gamecocks can’t hit from three at all. South Carolina forces a ton of turnovers, but almost no one is better at coming up with takeaways than Auburn.

Prediction: Auburn 84, South Carolina 78
Line: Auburn -7 , o/u: 154.5

Minnesota (14-4) at Michigan (17-1)

Game Time: 7:00 ET
TV Network: BTN

Can Minnesota somehow hold up against a Michigan team coming off its first loss of the season? The Gophers have alternated wins and losses over the last five games – they’re due for a loss – and now they have to try finding some sort of consistency against a team with one of the nation’s best defenses.

Forget about Minnesota hitting or doing anything from the outside, but it moves the ball around well and it’s good on the boards. The Wolverine defense will shut down the Gophers for too many long stretches.

Prediction: Michigan 80, Minnesota 65
Line: Michigan -13, o/u: 136.5

Mississippi State (14-3) at Kentucky (14-3)

Game Time: 7:00 ET
TV Network: ESPN

Fantastic over the last two games, Mississippi State overcame a rough start in the SEC with good wins, but now it has to go against a talented – but wildly inconsistent – Kentucky team that has a bad habit of not putting together a full 40 minutes.

MSU is great from three and blocks a whole lot of shots, but Kentucky is able to score in bunches and is great when it doesn’t have to shoot from three. UK will go another game with a few major lulls, but it might double up the free throw total.

Prediction: Kentucky 78, Mississippi State 71
Line: Kentucky -6.5 , o/u: 144.5

Texas Tech (15-3) at Kansas State (14-4)

Game Time: 7:00 ET
TV Network: ESPN2

First one to 60 wins? The two great defenses go at it when points will be at a premium, and the desperation might be there for a strong Texas Tech team on a two-game losing streak. Kansas State has won four straight since losing to the Red Raiders 63-57 in Lubbock in early January.

Texas Tech is second in the nation in scoring defense, and Kansas State is fourth. Both teams are great at forcing takeaways, and neither team is that great at hitting from three. In a low scoring game, go with the team that’s far better on the free throw line – even if the Red Raiders are on the road.

Prediction: Texas Tech 68, Kansas State 65
Line: Kansas State -2.5 , o/u: 119

Villanova (14-4) at Butler (12-7)

Game Time: 7:00 ET
TV Network: FS1

Villanova isn’t quite back to national championship form, but the offense is rolling again on a six-game winning streak. Butler is playing better over the last two games, but winning this would kickstart the season after losing four games in five.

Butler doesn’t have enough of an interior presence, doesn’t get to the line enough, and isn’t good enough on the defensive boards. However, it’s okay at defending from three. The Bulldogs have the offensive pop to keep up with the Wildcats, but they’ll lose on the line – they won’t come up with enough free throws.

Prediction: Villanova 80, Butler 75
Line: Butler -1.5, o/u: 140.5

Buffalo (17-1) at Northern Illinois (10-8)

Game Time: 8:00 ET
TV Network: ESPN+

Buffalo keeps on winning, but it’s not destroying MAC teams lately like it should. The final scores weren’t bad, but it’s occasionally been a wee bit of a grind. There shouldn’t be an issue against a Northern Illinois team that lost two straight – and lost some of its scoring punch.

The Huskies don’t do enough defensively – there aren’t enough steals or blocks for the tight UB team to worry about. The Bulls move the ball too well, don’t screw up, and should have this in hand just after halftime.

Prediction: Buffalo 80, Northern Illinois 69
Line: Buffalo -8.5, o/u: 158

Duke (15-2) at Pitt (12-6)

Game Time: 9:00 ET
TV Network: ESPN

Duke overcame the loss to Syracuse with a strong showing to hand Virginia its first loss of the season, while on the same day, Pitt got dropped by the Orange on the road by 11.

The Panthers don’t shoot well enough from the outside, but they get to the free throw line and they force a whole lot of mistakes. They can hang for a while in a shootout, but they don’t have the firepower to come up with a big rally once the Blue Devils get on a second half roll.

Prediction: Duke 84, Pitt 70
Line: Duke -12.5 , o/u: 155

Wake Forest (8-9) at Virginia (16-1)

Game Time: 9:00 ET
TV Network: ACC Network

The Cavaliers gave Duke a great fight, but couldn’t overcome some clutch shooting in their first loss of the season. They should get back on track without too much of a concern against a Wake Forest team that lost four of its last five, but shocked the ACC with a win over NC State.

The Demon Deacons struggle way too much offensively – not a positive against this Virginia defense. Wake Forest won’t force turnovers, and the Cavaliers won’t give them away for easy points. This should be well over by halftime.

Prediction: Virginia 77, Wake Forest 62
Line: Virginia -24, o/u: 131.5

Ole Miss (14-3) at Alabama (11-6)

Game Time: 9:00 ET
TV Network: ESPNU

The Rebels overcame a loss to LSU to roll past Arkansas on Saturday with ease, and now they get an Alabama team that gave now-No. 1 Tennessee a hard time, but lost its third game in the last four.

The Rebels are too good at moving the ball and they’ll dominate the Tide on the boards. Bama will keep it close at home, but won’t be able to create enough easy points.

Prediction: Ole Miss 79, Alabama 76
Line: Alabama -1, o/u: 152
