4. Okay, so who has the best-timed shot at beating Clemson?
Besides Georgia Tech and North Carolina from the Coastal, who in the ACC might have a shot at taking down Clemson?
The defending national champs will be favored over everyone, but they’ve been vulnerable over the years in one or two games they’ve either lost, or needed to pull a rabbit out of a hat.
Syracuse has been the biggest thorn in the paw, beating the Tigers two years ago and coming within a fourth down stop of doing it last season. The Orange will be coming off a road date against Maryland, but Clemson will have played Texas A&M the week before. And then it’s on to what should be an insane atmosphere in the Carrier Dome on September 14th.
Florida State gets a week off to prepare for its trip to Death Valley on October 12th, but the Tigers get that week off, too.
It’ll take something bizarre and strange for Clemson to lose at North Carolina, or at Louisville, but can Boston College do something dangerous on October 26th on the road? Probably not.
The Tigers have to go to NC State, but they should be able to rest their main men the week before against Wofford, and there’s a week off before going to South Carolina.
In other words, other than – maybe – that trip to Syracuse, good luck finding a possible issue in the ACC without totally guessing.
