3. Jonathan Taylor’s 2,000-yard season

It might have been the year of the quarterback when it came to the Heisman chase, but Jonathan Taylor took home the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s top running back, and now he’s in the mix to be among the greatest runners of all-time.

With this 205-yard rushing day, Taylor is up to 4,171 career rushing yards thanks to his 2,194-yard sophomore season. And now, after this one massive game, he moved up past Adrian Peterson, Samaje Perine, Lamar Jackson, and a slew of other interesting names to get to settle in ahead of Florida’s Errict Rhett for 103rd all-time.

He gets to work behind an amazing line, and the Wisconsin system helps, but there wasn’t any help from the quarterback situation against Miami, and Taylor still produced.

And he’s just a sophomore. It’s a ridiculous pace, but if he does this for two more years, he’ll shatter Ron Dayne’s all-time record of 7,125 yards.

NEXT: Oh Miami … nooooooooo
