Three Reasons Why You Should Watch The Walk-On’s Independence Bowl
– Simply put, you’re going to watch, or Temple interim head coach Ed Foley will destroy you. With Geoff Collins off being the Georgia Tech head coach, America was introduced to the most intense coachey coach to ever get jacked up for a bowl game. His Owls will show up and woe to Duke for getting in the way of this …
– It’s Duke in a bowl game. This isn’t a snooty enough program – at least in football – to not care or get excited about getting into a post-season game. It fell off the map late in the season with losses to Clemson and Wake Forest by a combined score of 94-13, but it seems like it’s a team that just needed a bit of a rest. It’ll show up with an offense that should be able to make this a bit of a shootout.
– Temple football is fun. The Owls were able to rip apart Maryland 35-13, they hung around with Boston College, and they won six of their final seven games with the lone loss coming at UCF. The O is balanced and explosive, the defense has enough talent to rise up and rock, and, of course, its current head coach is very, very interested in winning.
