It didn’t work.
After bombing away on Clemson, and showing so much promise and potential, it fizzled out all game long. It couldn’t establish the run – finishing with just 43 rushing yards – and it couldn’t turn drives into points.
More than anything else, it just couldn’t keep the chains moving and could never establish a groove. It seemed like Virginia had the ball for the entire game, because it did. But Jake Bentley was able to throw for 218 yards as he tried his best, but under pressure and with too many misfires, this wasn’t his game.
