NC State (9-3) vs. Texas A&M (8-4) Game Preview
Three Reasons Why You Should Watch The TaxSlayer Gator Bowl
– Texas A&M had a really, really good first season under Jimbo Fisher. It was 8-4, and it didn’t win an SEC title quite yet, but two of the losses were to Clemson and Alabama – hardly any shame there – and the other two were on the road against Mississippi State and Auburn. That stinks, but the 74-72 seven overtime win over LSU is all that anyone is going to remember out of this regular season.
But this might be a moment. This is going to be a hot Aggie team this offseason no matter what, but win this, and the momentum and excitement will be through the roof.
– Of course NC State has something to lose. This is a good team shooting for a very, very quiet ten-win season, but it flew way under the radar after losing a shootout to Syracuse, a thriller over Wake Forest, and getting blown away by Clemson. It’s missing a few key parts of the puzzle – more on that in a moment – and this will mostly be assumed to be a Texas A&M invitational. The pressure is off. The Wolfpack can bomb away, and they’re about to turn it loose.
– Get ready for a whole lot of offense. Texas A&M finished second in the SEC in total offense, only behind Alabama – averaging 466 yards per game – and NC State finished behind Clemson the ACC in total O averaging 471 yards per outing. It’s the last college football game of 2018. It should be worth it.
