Three Reasons Why You Should Watch The SoFi Hawai’i Bowl
– Hawaii is back in its home bowl. That didn’t translate into attendance when it was there in the 2016 game – a fantastic offensive shootout win over Middle Tennessee – but there should be a bit more interest with a team that’s better than it was a few years ago. Considering Louisiana Tech has been fantastic in bowl games under head coach Skip Holtz, and Hawaii will be jacked up, this should be fun.
– Hawaii went back to its run-and-shoot offensive roots, and the result was a resurgent season under second-year head coach Nick Rolovich. The offense cranked up the yards, points and wins over the first half of the year, but it took few late wins to avoid a collapse and get bowl eligible for just the second time since 2010.
– Louisiana Tech might have struggled down the stretch – losing three of its last four games – but this is the chance for redemption. The defense is terrific enough to give Hawaii a whole slew of problems, but the offense hasn’t been there like it should be under head coach Skip Holtz. Against this Hawaii team, this might just be the moment the O wakes up and rocks.
