Arkansas State (8-4) vs. Nevada (7-5) Game Preview
Three Reasons Why You Should Watch The NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl
– In just three seasons, this thing hasn’t been all that … entertaining. That’s all you’re looking for out of a game like this – you want to have fun. Nevada beat Colorado State in a fun 28-23 game in the inaugural bowl, Air Force went off on South Alabama in the second year, and last season, New Mexico State came up with a historic victory for the program with an overtime thriller against Utah State. And now, this should be the best matchup of the four. Arkansas State can put up numbers, Nevada has a dangerous team, and it should be entertaining.
Even the bowl game’s Twitter title is entertaining …
– Arkansas State didn’t quite have the season it was hoping for – it was at least expected to get to the Sun Belt Championship – bit it rolled to wins in five of its last six games including its last four, it has a dangerous offense, and it’s been on over the second half of the year. The Red Wolves scored 31 points or more in each of its last six games, and the O has been solid in bowl games under Blake Anderson. They’ll be entertaining.
– Nevada quietly had a strong season under second year head man Jay Norvell. The Wolf Pack weren’t as splashy as Utah State, or as good as Boise State and Fresno State, and didn’t have a big win like San Diego State came up with over Arizona State, but it was a solid, with four straight wins before losing the rivalry date to UNLV. The Air Raid offense is supposed to be a thing, but instead, the defense was terrific. Yes, defense can be entertaining, too.
