Three Reasons Why You Should Watch The New Era Pinstripe Bowl

If you close your eyes and pretend really hard, maybe you can fool yourself into thinking this was last season’s Orange Bowl. The rematch between two programs that came a win away from going to last year’s College Football Playoff highlights just how far both of them fell. Both of them were wildly disappointing, and both of them need this to salvage something out of the campaign. These are still two wildly talented teams in what might just turn out to be the best battle before the CFP kicks off a few days later.

– Wisconsin is better than this. The Badgers were never quite as sharp enough over the first half of the year, and then the wheels totally came off when QB Alex Hornibrook suffered a concussion in the middle of the season. The losses were brutal uggos with next to nothing going right, and the wins were mostly over the weak and the sad. It took an epic comeback to get by Purdue, to join the thriller over Iowa as the only victory over bowl bound teams. A win over Miami would make 2018 look a whole lot better.

Miami is better than this. At least, it was supposed to be as the season got underway. But the issues at quarterback led to a rough season for the offense, and the defense couldn’t pick up the slack. The team had one really bad four game stretch, but it picked it back up with wins over Virginia Tech and Pitt to close things out. Winning this game wouldn’t make everything right in what was supposed to be a second straight run to the ACC championship game, but it would ease make for an easier offseason. Head coach Mark Richt isn’t on any real hot seat, but it won’t be a whole lot of fun if he loses to the Badgers – again.
