Three Reasons Why You Should Watch The Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl

– Fresno State just needed a Memphis upset of UCF in the Conference USA Championship. If that had happened, after beating Boise State for the Mountain West title, the Bulldogs would’ve been off playing LSU in the Fiesta Bowl in a New Year’s Six game. But dealing with Arizona State in the Las Vegas Bowl is still terrific for a program that reloaded in just two years under head coach Jeff Teford.

– It’s been a magnificent – and somewhat stunning – season for Arizona State under new head coach Herm Edwards, leading the Sun Devils with wins in four of their last five games including a win over rival Arizona. This is gravy time for Edwards with the pressure a little bit off – few thought before the season that ASU would be here.

However, this is a fun team with a terrific offense and an aggressive defense that’s going to play hard – it’s not going to gear it down because it’s facing a Mountain West team.

It’s the biggest bowl game of the first wave. It’s the first and only time a Power Five program is playing until Wake Forest gives it a go against Memphis in the Jared Birmingham a week later. Considering the American Athletic champ (UCF) is in the New Year’s Six, Fresno State is the highest-profile Group of Five champion playing in 2018.
