1. The Jeff Tedford hire is working
1-11 in 2016 to 12-2 in 2018.
22 wins in two years. Two trips to the Mountain West championship and one title. Two bowl wins, a killer defense, and an offense that managed to come though with a special performance in the second half, just when things weren’t going quite right.
How is Jeff Tedford not front-and-center on the lists of every decent job opening?
Matt Wells might be younger and have the offensive style, but Utah State didn’t pull off what Fresno State just did.
Colorado wanted to go in a defensive direction with Melvin Tucker. Okay, but why not make a run at the guy with Pac-12 experience – actually, Pac-10 experience – and whose defense turned into a force in just one year?
Maybe it’s because Tedford has found a home in Fresno and he’s in the midst of putting together something special.
But now he has to rebuild again, at least on offense.
He’s losing most of his offensive line, QB Marcus McMaryion, WR KeeSean Johnson. However, he’s getting eight starters back on defense.
And Fresno State is getting Tedford back. Consider that the miracle o the coaching carousel season.
