Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl Players To Watch
QB David Blough, Purdue: The smallish baller came back from missing the second half of last year hurt to throw for 3,521 yards and 25 touchdowns, putting up 300 yards or more eight of the last ten games of the season. He split time early on, took over, and never looked back, topping out with his 378-yard, three score day against Ohio State.
WR Rondale Moore, Purdue: One of the nation’s most exciting weapons, the freshman came up with a dominant all-around year, catching 103 passes for 1,164 yards and 12 scores, running for 203 yards and a touchdown, and also serving as the team’s top return man. He’s only 5-9 and 175 pounds, but he’s tough to go along with his elite quickness.
QB Jarrett Stidham, Auburn: It wasn’t the amazing season he and Tiger fans were hoping for, throwing for just 2,421 yards and 13 touchdowns. He only hit the 300-yard mark once – in the loss to Tennessee – and he couldn’t crank up more than 180 yards in any of his last three games. Against the porous Purdue defense, he should go off before he goes off early to the NFL.
LB Deshaun Davis, Auburn: The All-SEC performer led the team with 107 tackles including 13 against both Ole Miss and LSU from his spot in the middle. While he’s not necessarily a pass rusher, he managed to come up with 2.5 sacks to to along with his 14 tackles for loss.
