1. Clemson is in the national championship … again
It’s a shame that Clemson is doing this in the Alabama era, but it’s still an unbelievable accomplishment in the College Football Playoff era – or any era.
Remember when “Clemsoning” was a thing? Yeah … Clemsoning now means a three national championship appearance in four years. It means that despite the mediocre ACC, the change in quarterback, the loss of Dexter Lawrence, and all the pressure and all that went into being expected to end up in Santa Clara, the team did it.
It’s a third 14-win season in four years, it’s a second 14-0 record before the national title in four years, and it’s yet another moment showing off the staying power of a program at the peak of its powers under Dabo Swinney.
There’s nothing routine about this. There’s nothing about what Clemson is doing that can be taken for granted. No matter what happens in Santa Clara, this program is on an all-time great run.
Now win another national title.
