4. Kyler Murray was brilliant, too

He only completed 19-of-37 passes, and he wasn’t sharp enough good enough early in the first half when it really mattered, but the 2018 Heisman winner did what we all thought he could and would against the Tide D.

It took a while to rev up the engine, but he finished with 308 yards and two touchdown passes, and ran for a game-high 109 yards and one score.

Hie running game wasn’t giving him enough help – Kennedy Brooks and Trey Sermon combined for 54 yards on 15 carries, and that was it outside of Murray’s production – and the defense couldn’t slow down the Tide machine.

Murray had to do it all by himself at times, and he at least made it interesting in the second half. However, note to Clemson in its scouting report …
