CFN First-Team All-American
1. Kyler Murray, Jr. Oklahoma
The guy won the Heisman for a reason. He finished with the highest regular season passer rating ever, hitting 71% of his passes for 4,053 yards with 40 touchdowns and seven picks, averaging close to 12 yards per pass. He could run a little bit, too, with 892 yards and 11 scores. There might not have been one signature performance to point to, but there were a whole slew of amazing ones as he carries the Sooners week after week on the way to the Big 12 title and the College Football Playoff.
CFN Second-Team All-Americans
2. Tua Tagovailoa, Soph. Alabama
Amazing and unstoppable over a breathtaking first eight games – throwing for 25 touchdowns with no picks – on the way to one of the most efficient regular seasons in the history of college football. He might have closed out with a rough, injured day against Georgia in the SEC Championship, but he still managed to finish with 3,353 yards averaging 11.4 yards per pass with 37 touchdowns and four picks. He didn’t take off too often, but he ran for 190 yards and five scores.
