What’s Going To Happen
On a three game winning streak, a disappointing season for Wyoming might just finish well if it can come up with a victory at New Mexico to get bowl eligible.
On a six game losing streak, a disastrous second half of the season for New Mexico can at least end with something positive if it can ruin the Cowboys’ chance to have some more fun with a 13th game.
The Lobos have all but stopped playing defense, partly because there have been way too many turnovers and way too many mistakes allowing easy scoring chances. But to beat Wyoming, the offense has to work.
The Cowboys haven’t been the rock they were supposed to be defensively, but the run defense is terrific at times and the secondary hasn’t allowed much of anything in three of the last four games.
The Lobos don’t have any sort of a passing attack, and despite getting lit up by Air Force last week, the Cowboy defensive front should hold firm.
Like all Wyoming games, this won’t be any sort of a shootout. The Cowboys lost rising quarterback Sean Chambers, and star RB Nico Evans is banged up. It won’t matter – the defense will take over the game from the start.
