WKU (1-7) vs. Middle Tennessee (5-3) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
The Hilltoppers can’t get this season going.
They’ve lost four straight, and the bowl dreams are long gone, so now they can turn it loose … if they can.
The offense is sputtering, and scoring has been an issue, but the O line hasn’t been bad and there’s just enough in place to potentially give Middle Tennessee an issue.
The Blue Raiders struggle to come up meaningful defensive play – they’re last in the nation in third down stops – but the pass rush has been great, and the plays behind the line are there.
Brent Stockstill has been deadly accurate lately – connecting on 75% of his passes over the last three games with five touchdown passes in the last two – and he should have time to work.
With bowl eligibility there for the taking, the Blue Raiders will come up with a methodical performance, pulling away late. WKU just won’t be able to score enough early on – the offense isn’t going to get take advantage of its opportunities.
