Utah State (7-1) vs. Hawaii (6-4) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
HEY! College Football Playoff committee … OVER HERE!
Utah State lost in the final moments in a fight against Michigan State, and it’s been among the nation’s most dominant teams ever since.
Okay, okay, so the schedule isn’t anything great – it doesn’t have a win over a sure-thing bowl team – but the offense has ripped through everything in its path on the way to a wonderful seven-game winning streak to get deep into the hunt for the Mountain West title.
The road game at Boise State is at the end of the regular season rainbow, and three of the next four games are away from Logan.
And it starts with this.
On a rough three-game losing streak, the Hawaii season has taken a rough left turn. And now, with a trip to San Diego State to close things out, either the Rainbow Warriors have to win this week or beat UNLV next week to get to seven wins – they play a 13-game schedule – and go bowling.
Utah State QB Jordan Love is coming off a 448-yard, four-score passing day against New Mexico, and he should be able to keep it all going against the Hawaii secondary. However, watch out for Cole McDonald and company to keep up the fun
The Aggies will give up deep shots and some big yards, and McDonald will oblige with a big day at home in a bit of a shootout. But when needed, the Aggies will go on a few long drives, control the clock, and keep the great run going.
