USF (7-3) vs. Temple (6-4) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
USF is out of the American Athletic title hunt, but it can play the role of spoiler over the next two weeks with the trip to Philadelphia this week and with UCF coming to Tampa to follow. It’s bowl eligible, but things have turned ugly on the three game losing streak.
But Temple is still deep in the hunt.
It needs to beat USF and UConn, and hope UCF loses to Cincinnati and USF. It’s asking a lot, but get a win, and hope to stay alive.
The Owl offense has been magnificent over the last several weeks. QB Anthony Russo hit UCF for 444 yards and four scores in the wild and crazy loss, and last week, Ryquell Armstead ran for 210 yards and six touchdowns in the wild and crazy win over Houston.
And USF can’t stop any of it.
QB Blake Barnett had shoulder issues before the loss to Cincinnati last week, but the offense isn’t the problem – even though Chris Oladokun struggled with the passing game. The Bulls just can’t slow down the run.
The Bulls have allowed 200 rushing yards or more in seven of the last nine games, including the last five.
Armstead and the Owl ground game will go wild, Russo will keep the chains moving, and it’ll be a fun offensive show as Temple wins its fifth game in the last six.
