What’s Going To Happen
UAB is off to play in the Conference USA championship, and Middle Tennessee might just get there with a whole lot of luck.
The Blue Raiders can make this Round One by winning and hoping for FIU to lose to Marshall.
They’re coming off an interesting game against Kentucky, getting the offense going in an entertaining fight with one of the SEC’s better teams. The offense might not be anything amazing, but it’s opportunistic. The passing attack might not be special, but Brent Stockstill is a veteran who keeps the chains moving.
UAB has the pass rush and the defense to keep the Middle Tennessee O from going off, but it’ll be the passing game that takes over with Tyler Johnston doing a great job in place of the injured A.J. Erdely – who’s still trying to heal up with a shoulder injury with a shot at going against the old team he transferred out of.
The Blazer secondary will rise up on the road thanks to a pass rush that will rip through the porous Middle Tennessee offensive front. The Blue Raiders won’t be able to get the offense going enough to overcome the UAB ground game that will take control from the start.
