Toledo (5-5) vs. Kent State (2-6) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Northern Illinois has already taken the MAC West title, but Toledo still needs this to get bowl eligible. But it’s more than that.
The MAC should have more eligible teams than bowl spots, and 6-6 might not get it done. The Rockets can still get to six wins with Central Michigan up next, but they can’t take that chance.
Kent State is trying to find something to build on for next year, needing the offense to be more consistent and the FlashFast style has to eventually kick in.
The Golden Flashes are too mistake-prone and the line play is too mediocre.
Anyone with a pass rush can hang out in the Kent State backfield for days, and Toledo is way too aggressive and way too good at getting behind the line.
Coming off a dud of a performance against Northern Illinois last week, Toledo will make up for it with a fast start and a big day from QB Eli Peters. He was okay against NIU, but he’ll crank up well over 300 yards as Toledo looks the part again.
