LINE: Iowa -10.5, o/u: 42.5
ATS PICK: Northwestern
Northwestern continues to defy most logic and reason. This week, logic and reason should work in its favor.
The Wildcats had a weird loss to Duke in the second game of the season when the offense hit a strange lull. The only other Wildcat game decided by more than ten points was the 31-17 win over Wisconsin.
Even the loss to Notre Dame last week was just ten points.
And now, with the Big Ten West not totally on the line, but close, the Wildcat team that’s been able to overcome so much is going to get rolled on the road to a beaten up Iowa squad?
It’s possible, and the Cats could still keep this to within a single-digit loss by slowing this down to a stop.
Iowa was able to cruise at will against Minnesota and Indiana, and it shut out Maryland in windy conditions, but it wasn’t able to keep up late in two straight losses to Penn State and Purdue. Northwestern isn’t going to make this a firefight, but it should be able to do what it does.
Muck it up, get timely defense, stop the run, and keep this close.
The last two Iowa-Northwestern games were each decided by seven points.
