San Jose State (1-7) vs. Wyoming (3-6) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
As bad and as disappointing as the season has been, Wyoming still has an honest shot of getting to a bowl game after getting by Colorado State last week.
The offense has been awful, and the D hasn’t been able to make up for the issues, but with Air Force and New Mexico to follow this, the season can be saved.
But the Cowboys first have to deal with a San Jose State team that finally came up with a win.
The Spartans have the passing game going, with Josh Love and the quarterback rotation combining to connect on over 70% of their passes over the last three games, and tearing up UNLV for 349 yards and four scores.
Now they have to go against a pass defense that’s far better and stronger than the stats.
The Wyoming offense just doesn’t move the ball on a consistent basis, but there aren’t a slew of giveaways, and the D really is strong enough to get the job done if it gets anything ay all from the other side.
The Spartans have the nation’s worst rushing attack, the offensive line is awful in pass protection and there’s no pass rush.
Wyoming will sputter and struggle yet again to get the offense going, but the D will come up with several stops as it owns the field position battle, and being a +2 in the turnover margin will mean everything in the close battle.
