Path To The College Football Playoff: Who's Still Alive After Week 10? What's Going To Happen?

Big Ten

Michigan (8-1)

The Path to the College Football Playoff: The Wolverines have been so strong that they’re in if they win out. They might get the No. 4 seed, but they’re not going to care as long as they’re in. If Notre Dame loses one of its final games, it’ll be third, and if the Irish and Clemson both lose, they’ll be no worse than second.

What Will Happen: The Revenge Tour will keep on rolling. Rutgers and Indiana won’t be a problem on the way to 10-1, and then, finally …. they’ll get by Ohio State before whacking Iowa/Northwestern/Purdue/Wisconsin for the Big Ten title and the No. 3 spot.

Ohio State (8-1)

The Path to the College Football Playoff: Unlike Michigan, it’s not a sure thing for a 12-1 Big Ten champion Ohio State to get in. First, the Buckeyes have to win at Michigan State, at Maryland, and then against Michigan before winning the Big Ten title game for the second year in a row. Then, they most likely need Notre Dame to lose, and/or a two-loss Big 12 champ.

What Will Happen: They’ll drop one along the way. With the way they’re playing, they could lose any of their last three regular season game, or even the Big Ten title if they happen to get there.
