Ohio (6-3) vs. Miami University (3-6) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
After Buffalo blew away Kent State on Tuesday night, Miami is done in the race for the East even if it wins out. Now it has to try playing spoiler.
Ohio won’t be eliminated from the chase with a loss – the Bobcats get the Bulls next week – but it’ll be close considering UB closes out against Bowling Green. Win, and for all intents and purposes, next week’s showdown in Athens will be for the division title.
The Bobcats are kicking it all in at the right time, hanging up 160 points in the last three games after losing at Northern Illinois.
The running game has been unstoppable, and now it gets to try ripping up a MU defense that couldn’t handle Army’s ground attack a few weeks ago, but has been solid throughout the year.
Just as hot is Miami QB Gus Ragland, coming off of two straight 300-yard passing games, and now he has to get rolling fast against a Bobcat pass defense that struggled early on, but has been solid over the last few weeks.
But Ohio hasn’t faced a quarterback like Ragland.
MU will get its yards, but the Bobcats are rolling too well right now and aren’t going to whiff in the game they need to have. They’ll hold on to the ball for at least 35 minutes, going on a few long marches to answer Ragland scoring drives.
