North Carolina (1-8) vs. Western Carolina (3-7) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
It’s been a rough run for both teams.
The Catamounts of Western Carolina have lost seven straight after a nice 3-0 start, doing a decent job on offense with a nicely balanced offense, and getting enough from the pass rush to keep from being totally miserable defensively. But the team just doesn’t have that extra gear when it comes time to pull off a win.
Sound familiar, North Carolina?
The Tar Heels just aren’t that awful for a 1-8 team.
The defense is bad, yeah, but the offense is able to crank it up with a decent balance and a little bit of explosion, but it’s just not all consistent and it has turnover issues.
The D doesn’t come up with enough third down stops, and it doesn’t make enough big plays or takeaways in key moments.
The Catamounts force turnovers, but … sound familiar, Western Carolina?
Finally, North Carolina will get its second win of the year as it gets over the shootout loss to Duke and gets ready for NC State. It’s been a lost season, but the O will control the game throughout with Nathan Elliott hitting for close to 300 yards.
