Colorado State (3-6) vs. Nevada (5-4) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
The two also-rans will try to make things interesting as they each try to stay alive in the hunt for a bowl game. Nevada is right there, but Colorado State needs to all of a sudden get good at college football.
The Rams have to win out, but with Utah State and at Air Force to close, good luck. The defense has been a dud over the last two weeks – who gives up 34 points to Wyoming? – and the offense just hasn’t been able to find any sort of consistency.
Nevada is in a better spot, needing just one more win to get bowl eligible after coming up with a huge victory over San Diego State, but could use a few more victories to make sure it gets another game to play – there will probably be too many teams for bowls.
With games at San Jose State and UNLV to close, there won’t be a problem closing out hot.
The Air Raid passing game hasn’t been special, but it’ll look the part against a painful Ram pass defense that gives up yards in chunks and doesn’t pick off enough passes.
The Rams don’t give themselves any breaks when it comes to turnover margin. However, Collin Hill stepped in and threw well against Wyoming last week, and he’ll get the yards going against the Pack secondary. However, he’ll be under pressure against a good pass rush that forces errors.
This won’t be anything pretty, but Nevada will get to six wins with a good offensive showing. Bowl eligibility will look fantastic.
