Fresno State (10-2) vs. Boise State (10-2) Game Preview
Three Reasons Why You Should Watch The Mountain West Championship
– Fresno State gets to take another bite at the apple. It lost last year’s Mountain West Championship in Boise 17-14, and it dropped a fun game earlier this season 24-17 with a semi-controversial ending – the phantom first down chain gang call. This is the sixth Mountain West Championship, and Fresno State’s fourth time in it. It one once and lost twice … to Boise State.
– There’s a solid chance this might be for a New Year’s Six slot. Both teams will have the Memphis pom-poms out, hoping the Tigers can pull off the win over UCF in the American Athletic Conference championship. If that happens, this is probably for the Fiesta Bowl. If UCF wins, the winner here goes to the Las Vegas Bowl.
– How much longer will these two coaches be doing this where they’re at? If the rumors are true and Utah State’s Matt Wells is at least being talked about for the Texas Tech job, just how strong a gig could Boise State’s Bryan Harsin and Fresno State’s Jeff Teford get – if one of them had eyes on being upwardly mobile.
Colorado? Perhaps. Georgia Tech? Probably not quite right. Whatever happens, these are two of college football’s better coaches, and they’re teams are going to put on another good show.
