Hawaii (7-5) vs. San Diego State (7-4) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
There’s no pressure here. Hawaii got the seventh win it needed to become bowl eligible, San Diego State is already there – and out of the Mountain West title chase. Now it’s simply about the records and how they look.
However, the Aztecs are on a two-game losing streak and lost three of their last four. The offense has fallen flat, and the close games the team played and won over the first part of the season are now going the other way.
The D isn’t coming up with the turnovers it used to, but there’s no running against this group. No. 1 in the league in total defense and second in scoring D, Hawaii has to crank up its passing attack from the start.
This won’t be a hard formula. The Aztecs are going to run from the start against a porous Rainbow Warrior front seven that’s giving up 220 yards or more in each of its last five games. Everything then goes over to the SDSU secondary that will give up around 250 yards, but won’t get torched.
Hawaii will turn the ball over twice, the Aztecs will score on both of the mistakes, and they’ll have their eighth win.
