Fresno State (7-1) vs. UNLV (2-6) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Fresno State has been amazing lately.
The offense might not be doing anything crazy, but the defense is making every game relatively easy against a whole slew of mediocre teams. The D is a killer on third downs, the O is great in pass protection, and the team has been nearly flawless in turnover margin – it’s not screwing up, and the defense is taking the ball away in bunches.
Enter UNLV, who has a decent offense, but the defense has been a disaster just when the team has needed it the most.
The Rebel has allowed 50 points or more in three of the last four games – worst of all, giving San Jose State its first win of the year in a 50-37 loss.
Fresno State might not bomb away, but Marcus McMaryion will come up with an efficient and effective 240+ yard game with three scores, and the defense will take care of the rest.
The UNLV running game has fizzled out with QB Armani Rogers out, and while Max Gilliam and the passing game have picked up the slack, the defensive side is getting crushed.
