LINE: Duke -10, o/u: 58.5
And now we get into the silly season when the idea of a rivalry makes 18-to-22-year-old kids care more.
But rivalries to intensify games, fan bases, and the coaches – duh – and yeah, the players who are about to close down their seasons are going to do a little more right about now.
Watch out for Oklahoma State potentially covering a massive spread against Oklahoma, the other big rivalries are about to kick in over the next few weeks, and North Carolina, who’s closing down a brutal lost season, is looking for some fun down the stretch.
The Tar Heels have this and NC State still to play. Already with seven losses, these are the two games they have left to make something happen with the year.
It’s not like Duke is anything special.
It’s a good team, but the offensive pop hasn’t been consistent, and it lost three of its last four games including to mediocre Virginia Tech, Virginia and Pitt teams.
North Carolina doesn’t had a defense, but it’s got the offense that can move the chains and put the pressure on all game long.
That double-digit spread is a bit too large.
And it’s a rivalry game.
