LINE: Arkansas State -7, o/u: 60.5
Arkansas State has the offense to turn the lights out on the Chanticleers in a hurry.
Justice Hansen continues to be one of the league’s best quarterbacks, throwing for 332 yards and three scores in a key game against South Alabama last week to stay alive in the Sun Belt title chase.
But the defense isn’t good enough against the run.
It got ripped up by a bad, bad UNLV team for 310 yards. The Georgia Southern option attack worked its way for close to 350, and giving up over 200 has been the norm.
The Red Wolves allow more than five yards per carry.
Coastal Carolina might have lost at home last week against Appalachian State, but is really going to drop a second game as a home dog? That ASU has a run defense. This ASU’s version isn’t going to be good enough.
UNLV is the only team to run for more than 200 yards and lose to the Red Wolves, who have gone 1-4 this year against teams that hit the mark. Coastal Carolina is 5-1 when it runs for over 200 yards, with the only loss coming to ULM.
The Chanticleer team is going to crush the time of possession battle as it controls the game, the clock, and keeps Hansen off the field.
