Colorado State (3-8) vs. Air Force (4-7) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Neither team is going bowling, and both programs are ending a painfully disappointing season on awful low notes. Air Force lost three of its last four games – including last week at Wyoming – while Colorado State has dropped four straight.
If the season wasn’t rough enough for the Rams, it got the gut punch of the called off Hail Mary that would’ve beaten Utah State.
Colorado State’s defensive front can’t stop the big runs. Teams are cranking up big dash after big dash, averaging well over five yards per carry so far. This is where Air Force cranks up the attack.
The Falcons can’t stop the big passes. Teams are cranking up big pass play after big pass play without fears of getting picked off on a regular basis. There’s no pressure from the defensive front, and offenses are able to put up 200 yards way too easily.
If Wyoming is throwing for 262 yards and two touchdowns, your pass defense has a problem.
But the Air Force ground attack will take over from the start and never let Colorado State have the ball. Even in the losses, the O is working well enough to rumble for 200 yards. Over the last two weeks, the ground game has been stellar.
If you’re running for 362 yards and three scores on Wyoming, your running game is working.
It’ll work against Colorado State, too.
