If the format was based on all Power Five conference champions, a top Group of Five champ, and two wild-cards.
With the two wild card format, No. 7 LSU would be out – as of right now – for with Washington State and UCF needing a spot. No. 9 West Virginia and No. 10 Ohio State would also be out.
No. 8 UCF vs. No. 1 Alabama
You want Bama, UCF? You’d have it.
No. 7 Washington State vs. No. 2 Clemson
It would be a dangerous game for the Tigers against Gardner Minshew and the high-powered Cougar offense.
No. 6 Oklahoma vs. No. 3 Notre Dame
Would Oklahoma be a touchdown favorite? Kyler Murray and the offense vs. the Irish D would be a problem.
No. 5 Georgia vs. No. 4 Michigan
By far the best showdown of the first round, the Dawgs would have to figure out how to get going against the Michigan D.
