Charlotte (4-5) vs. Marshall (5-3) Game Preview

Free daily ATS lock pick just released: ‘100% confidence release!’

What’s Going To Happen

It’s basically an elimination game in the Conference USA East race. There’s still a whole lot of work to do for the winner – and a slew of things will need to happen – to get to the conference championship, but the loser is all but done.

For Charlotte, there’s still a dream of a bowl game, needing to win two of the last three games to get in. Marshall just needs one more victory to get eligible.

The 49ers have been fantastic defensively for most of the season, and they’ve been a rock lately, allowing 17 points or fewer in three of the last four games. But the offense has hit a bit of a wall, too.

The Marshall pass rush and the defensive front is good enough to stop the Charlotte offense cold. The 49ers don’t have a good running game, and the offense doesn’t put up points and yards in chunks. They have to dominate the clock – they’re third in the country in time of possession – but Marshall’s defense is too good at getting off the field to lose control of the game.

It’s going to be a low-scoring, slow-and-go game, but Marshall will be +2 in turnover margin and will get more out of the defense to pull this out – and become bowl eligible.
