Bowling Green (1-8) vs. Central Michigan (1-9) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Someone has to win.
Neither team has a win over an FBS team in miserable seasons for both, and this is likely the only shot at any fun for the winner.
Bowling Green hasn’t been any better after launching head coach Mike Jinks a few weeks ago, but the losses to Western Michigan and Kent State at home were by a touchdown each. On the other side, Central Michigan hasn’t been destroyed, but it just can’t score.
Second-worst in the nation in total offense, points and third down conversions, turnovers have been the huge issue for the Chippewas. The passing game isn’t clicking, bottoming out with just 61 yards last week against Eastern Michigan.
CMU hasn’t hit half of its passes in any of the last five games.
Second-worst in the nation in scoring defense, rushing defense and tackles for loss, Bowling Green is just the team to get healthy against.
It’s the movable object vs. the stoppable force.
Bowling Green has the MAC’s best passing offense, but CMU has the MAC’s best pass defense.
At home, the Chippewas are going to finally get a little bit of offense going – especially on the ground – and the secondary will hold up just well enough to finally look a little bit like the team it was supposed to be from the start.
