Big 12 Week 13 Game Recaps
Player of the Week
QB Kyler Murray, Oklahoma
Will Grier was brilliant, throwing for 539 yards and four scores, but he also turned it over twice for touchdowns. Murray completed 20-of-27 passes for 364 yards and three scores with a pick, and ran nine times for 114 yards and a touchdown.
Ranking the games from worst to best …
5. Baylor 35, Texas Tech 24
The winner was going bowling, and the loser was going home. Baylor got three touchdown passes and 308 yards out of Charlie Brewer, and Texas Tech got the loss, and Kliff Kingsbury got fired.
4. Texas 24, Kansas 17
It wasn’t a well played game, but it was good enough for Texas as it held off a late Kansas rally to get to the Big 12 Championship. Sam Ehinger made a few mistakes, but he ran for a score and threw for two.
3. TCU 31, Oklahoma State 24
TCU needed to win to go bowling, and it got the job done helped by Jalen Reagor’s 121 receiving yards and two scores, with one on an 83-yard dash. The Oklahoma State offense struggled until it was too late.
2. Iowa State 42, Kansas State 38
Just when it seemed like Kansas State was off to a bowl game, Iowa State rallied for 21 fourth quarter points and the stunning win.
1. Oklahoma 59, West Virginia 56
Oklahoma came up with 668 yards, West Virginia 704, and the two teams traded haymakers in one of the wildest and most important Big 12 games since the league went to ten teams. Oklahoma is off to the Big 12 Championship with the win.
