Lafayette (3-6) vs. Army (7-2) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Army is already bowl eligible after coming up with a tough 17-14 win over Air Force last week, and now it gets to build up the win total as it hangs around in the FCS world for a few weeks, acting like a Patriot League team.
Lafayette started out poorly with no offense whatsoever, and now it doesn’t have any offense, but at least its winning. The O has been better over the last several weeks, but it’s coming off a blowout loss to Holy Cross. The run defense has been solid – but it’s about to deal with a whole other level of issues.
The Army defense continues to be excellent, and the offense – even when it’s not cranking up way over 300 yards on the ground – is still controlling games.
As always, Army will seem like it has the ball all game long as it dominates every third down and bleeds the clock, and the Leopards won’t have any way of keeping up or coming back. Lafayette will turn the ball over twice in the second half to turn a Knight lead into a blowout.
