Based from the smallest point spread to the biggest, these are the five most dangerous games this week for the favorites. It might not necessarily turn out to be an outright upset in each game – most of the official picks here are against the spread – but out of these six, expect a few shockers.

The goal here isn’t to necessarily find the ones who are going to win, but if that happens, so be it. The hope is to find the needle in the haystack.

6. Arizona State at Arizona

LINE: Arizona State -1.5, o/u: 64.5

Welcome to the theme of the week …

Teams needing a win to get bowl eligible vs. teams that don’t need to win.

Virginia Tech stayed alive in the bowl hunt with its win over Virginia, but Coastal Carolina clunked against South Alabama when it had to come up with a victory to stay alive.

Arizona has several parts to its puzzle.

It needs to win to get bowl eligible, and Arizona State doesn’t. It also needs a win to erase last year’s loss to the Sun Devils, and to put in the rearview mirror the brutal collapse against Washington State last week.

The Sun Devils might have the stronger lines and the pass rush to pull this off on the road, but this is where the Wildcat backfield will shine.

At home, Khalil Tate will put on a show, the defense will make amends for the disaster against the Cougars last week, and Kevin Sumlin will end his rocky first regular season with a huge win earning a bowl appearance.

At least, that’s what Arizona fans are expecting and demanding.
