3. There’s Just No Love For Ohio State, But …
It doesn’t matter too much. At least not yet.
The issue for the Buckeyes is the loss. Purdue isn’t bad, but if you have to argue with Washington State that your blowout loss is better than a loss to a mediocre USC, there’s a problem.
Fortunately for them, with Michigan State up next and No. 4 Michigan at the end of the regular season rainbow, they’re two wins away from being on the doorstep of the College Football Playoff with a Big Ten Championship to finish things up.
The team hasn’t looked great, and it struggled way too much with Nebraska, but it’s all still on the table – with a little bit of help.
Win out, and the Buckeyes will almost certainly blow past West Virginia, Washington State and LSU in the final tally, and considering it’ll take a win over the Wolverines to get there. it would have a beef to get by Oklahoma, too.
Get to 12-1, expect Alabama to beat Georgia in the SEC Championship, and hope for Notre Dame to drop a game along the way.
Yes, Buckeye fans, your team is struggling and underachieving a bit. But it’s still right there, even at the ten spot.
