USF (5-0) vs. Tulsa (1-4) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Tulsa has yet to win a game against an FBS team. USF has yet to lose a game.
While the world keeps assuming UCF is going to be the star of the Group of Five and American Athletic Conference again, but it doesn’t have a win as strong as USF’s 49-38 victory over Georgia Tech, and it didn’t win on the road – or, in Chicago – against Illinois.
The Bulls won’t exactly capture the imagination with a big performance on national TV against a mediocre Tulsa team, but it’s a chance to rise up and rock with road games at Houston, Cincinnati and Temple still to go.
And a home date against UCF.
Tulsa’s ground game has been great, and the offense is able to move the chains and grind out the clock, but it can’t stop turning the ball over and is miserable in pass protection.
USF just came up with five sacks in the win over UMass, and that’s a few weeks after generating five sacks against Illinois.
The Tulsa offense should be able to generate a few yards on the ground, but the Bull defense will into the backfield on enough key downs to stall drives.
The Golden Hurricane will be plucky, but they’ll struggle to keep up in the second half.
