UConn (1-4) vs. Memphis (3-2) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
When will Memphis start to play up to its potential? It’s good, but it hasn’t beaten anyone strong yet, and it’s 0-2 on the road, going 0-2 in conference play.
Fortunately for the Tigers, UConn isn’t good, and it’s a home game.
This is where the Memphis running game has to go off. The Huskies have the second-worst run defense in the country – giving up 296 yards or more in four of the five games, all of the losses – and now it’s up to the Tigers to bounce back from a bad day on the ground against Tulane.
Darrell Henderson is one of the nation’s most explosive backs – averaging close to 12 yards per carry – and he’s not alone. The offense will get its groove back at home, and UConn won’t have the ability to keep up.
The Huskies are fine on the ground, but the downfield passing game can’t keep up. Memphis will score in any way it wants to, keeping its foot on the gas to do everything possible to beat up for the showdown against UCF.
