LINE: UMass -4.5, o/u: 65.5
ATS PICK: UConn
A some point, most bad teams stop becoming a punching bag.
Nebraska and UCLA were able to do that over the last few weeks, and while UConn isn’t nearly as good as those two, it showed in a 38-30 loss against an unbeaten USF team last week that it still has some fight.
And now it get a New England school coming into its house … and it’s the favorite.
Granted, UConn hasn’t been close to getting an FBS win so far, but now it’s playing someone its own size. The UMass offense should go off, but the Minutemen aren’t playing any D, either. Even when it did get into a tough battle, it lost at home to Coastal Carolina by 11 last week.
There’s one UMass win over an FBS team – at home to Charlotte in a shootout – and all six losses were by double digits.
UConn is bad, this will be its enough-is-enough game.
